Estate Administration
Resolving estate disputes with care, at a difficult time.
When a loved one passes away, there can be nothing more painful than seeing family members fight over the will.
When people are grieving, it can be important not to escalate the conflict through lawyers’ letters, even if you have had legal advice about your position.
At Blue Door Mediation, we support all participants to an estate dispute to come to a collaborative resolution. We work to ensure that when it comes to difficult conversations, that you are at your best; you feel well supported, and you are able to make good decisions.
Who we can help:
- Executors and trustees of an estate, trying to perform their legal duties while dealing with the expectations of others.
- Beneficiaries with concerns about the way the estate has been administered; and
- Those who feel that they have unfairly been left out of a will altogether.
We note that it is possible for a “Deed of Family Arrangement” to be agreed between the affected parties. This is essentially an agreement between the parties allowing the executor(s) to distribute the estate differently to what is stated in the will. Where required, we will work with your lawyers to put in place a legal and binding agreement that everyone is comfortable with.
